University of Reading Sibly Hall - Plans submittedThe university has just submitted two planning applications to Wokingham Borough Council. If you are interested in examining them online, the first, for the relocated phone mast (30m high) can be found here. The second is for outline planning permission for the housing development, and it should appear on the WBC website early in the new year. To search for it, go to the planning application website and against Keyword, type in "Sibly" (if that produces only the application for the mast, try "Sibley" -- but ignore application SO/2010/2358 and previous ones). The plans for relocating the mast will also be available for inspection at the Earley Town Council Offices (Radstock Lane) from 4 January 2011. In the evening of 4 January 2011, the ETC Planning Committee will be discussing certainly the first application, and probably both (the meeting starts at 7.30pm, at the Council Offices). The reason for the urgency is that otherwise the council will miss the deadline (19 Jan) for submitting comments to the WBC Planning Dept. At the ETC meeting, residents will be given the opportunity to speak briefly -- unlike at Wokingham planning meetings! And of course anyone may send their comments on the application(s) directly to WBC: follow the link at the top of the webpage for each application. |
