The Berkshire Mammal GroupWe have received the following letter from the newly formed group Dear Earley Environmental Group, I hope you don't me contacting you, but I thought you and your members might be interested in attending the first meeting of the Berkshire Mammal Group on Thursday 9th December 2010 at the University of Reading at 7.30pm. Myself and some colleagues from TVERC (our local environmental records centre) and the Berkshire Nature Conservation Forum decided to set up the Berkshire Mammal Group as we all felt the need for the group to help to co-ordinate some of the mammal work already going on in the county and to help start up other programmes like a hazel dormouse monitoring programme. We plan to run a series of monthly talks and to increase training and monitoring of mammals in the county. Our first meeting will involve a few short presentations from us about our plans for the group, plus we will be inviting a guest speaker (final details haven't been confirmed yet) and then a chance to hear from you about any ideas that you might have for the group. All of the details can be found on our website. If you are interested in attending, or would like further information then please feel free to get in touch, All the best, Becky Thomas on behalf of the Berkshire Mammal Group |
