Rare Solanum Vernei in Earley

Some specimens of Solanum Vernei have been found growing locally. This plant is a form of wild potato, and is still used in cross-breeding commercial potato varities to introduce disease-resistant and other characteristics. It appears to have become reasonably well established in at least five sites in Earley., having previously been found in only one place in Berkshire (the university). Having additional local sites will aid its survival. How it has managed to spread is not yet clear .
